John Smith: "We think of the beginning when we are about to end"
I just came from watching "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". Poppy and I had a great time, laughing at the woes of the married couple (John and Jane Smith), considering that we would probably be facing the same plight after tying the knot.
During the scene where they sprayed bullets at each other at their beautiful house, it also reminded me of the movie "War of the Roses" played by Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner and directed by Danny Devito. It is another Dark Comedy where two couples fight it out in their marriage and ended that they still loved each other but both died tragically. Anyways, It was soo the same, except for the guns and the bullets of course, even though they have different conflicts, it was still a battle between husbands and wives. The common denominator for the two flicks is their realization for their love for each other at the end (which was too late for Roses hanging in their chandelier).
This is an interesting note...
Are failed marriages like the Smiths and the Roses?
Either we fall from chandeliers or shoot each others with Bazookas!
